August Anticipation: A Glimpse into My Writing World

Hello, dear readers! I hope you are all doing well and staying safe on these hot summer days. I know I've been feeling the heat, both literally and figuratively, as I continue to work on four books at the same time. Yes, you read that right: four books!

One of my upcoming works is the second installment of The Adventures of Alasa and Merry, my middle school series. The story follows the misadventures of two sisters who always seem to find trouble in their path. As the sisters embark on their journey, they encounter a plethora of new characters, each with their unique quirks. Some of these characters are downright creepy, while others are magical and beautiful. The first book of the series, Silent Wishes, was a hit with both young readers and critics alike. I am thrilled to share the next chapter of their journey with you. The book is set to be published by October, so keep an eye out for more updates and sneak peeks.

Although the other three books I'm working on are in different genres and stages of development, I can confidently say that they are all exciting and challenging projects for me. For instance, one of them is the third book of the Pull of the Sister Moon Series, which is a fantasy fiction novel that has followed the journey of Lyla, a young woman who has traveled to new worlds, formed deep friendships with people unlike any she has ever met, and has many surprises in store for the avid readers of this series. I am determined to have this book published by December 2023.

The two remaining books in my writing queue are children's books that hold a special place in my heart. They are dedicated to important people in my life, and I believe they would make wonderful reads to publish and share. Furthermore, the illustrations in these books are truly astounding, which adds to their endearing quality.

You might wonder how I manage to find the inspiration and motivation to work on four books simultaneously, especially in this scorching weather. Well, the truth is that inspiration can come from anywhere and anytime. Sometimes it's the soft melody of a song that I hear in the background or the captivating visual imagery of a movie that stimulates my imagination. Other times, it's the intricate details of a piece of art that trigger my creativity. The challenge posed by someone, the depth of a conversation, or even the vividness of a dream can all be a source of inspiration. Sometimes, it's just a fleeting thought that pops into my head, and I can't shake it off until I put it into words. At times, it's a question that I am eager to explore or answer through my stories, and that fuels my motivation.

But inspiration is not enough. Writing is hard work, and it requires discipline, dedication, and perseverance. It also requires a lot of editing, revising, and rewriting. Sometimes I get stuck or frustrated with my writing, and I need to take a break or switch to another project. Sometimes I get feedback from my editor or beta readers that makes me rethink or rewrite entire sections of my books. Sometimes I have to cut or change parts I love but don't fit the story.

That's why I'm grateful for your support and encouragement, dear readers. You are the reason I write, and why I keep writing even when it's tough. You are the ones who make my stories come alive in your imaginations, and who share them with others. You are the ones who give me feedback, reviews, comments, and messages that make me smile and inspire me to do better.

So thank you for being with me on this journey, and for being patient with me as I work on bringing you more stories that you will hopefully enjoy. I hope you are all finding ways to stay cool and creative in this blasting heat. And remember: keep reading, keep writing, keep dreaming!

A little glimpse of my character in one of my children's books.
